Monday saw us going up to Greenwood for our monthly scramble. Not everyone was `bright eyed and bushy tailed` as many had been watching the thrilling climax to the Ryder Cup, (which thankfully was won by the Europeans – just).
Greenwood was in its normal very good condition as our 8 pairings challenged the C & A nines of the white tees. Plenty new faces and returning players today with a welcome back to Neil and Lee Smith, Paul Longstaff and Emmit White. Newbies included Ray Ward, Derek Teeling and Kevin Hagerty.
Nigel Henson and Mike Tottenham were the defending champions of our scrambles and at Greenwood they held onto their crown with a narrow victory over Glen Elsworth and Emmit White. The course was playing long today so to shoot gross scores of 75 and 74 was very good play.
