TONY BROWNE COMES STORMING THROUGH TO WIN THE OLDE ROGUES CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.

            For the 4^th and final round of the Olde Rogues Club Championship we travelled to Greenwood with 34 players 24 of whom were in the Championship finale. At the start of the round, it was Frenchman, Jean Louis Goergen, who led the field with 106 and he was followed closely by fellow countryman Michel DeLeTraz and the Australian pairing of Rob Davies and John Coetzee all of whom were on 104. The dark horses of the leading pack were Keith Griffith on 100 and Tony Browne with 98. Keith and Tony were well in the frame because they each had medium scores in the 20`s to discard with it being a best of 3 out of 4 competition.  

            Although not in the Championship, it was a welcome back to Garry Lyon, John Carlton and Vero Morgan with a special welcome to new member, Frank Stockton.

            After the front 9, it was John Coetzee, Tony Browne and Keith Griffith who were handling the difficult front nine A course the best with outward scores of 16, 18 and 18. The homeward nine saw Tony race away from the field as he came from 8 back at the start of the day to win by 7 shots from John Coetzee, Keith Griffith and Jean Louis Goergen.

            Tony`s 39 points also saw him take first place in Flight A on a countback from Garry Lyon with Vero Morgan ousting Frank Stockton to take the plaudits in Flight B.
