There was a lot of worried faces as we made our way up to Pattavia as we went through some heavy rain of Biblical proportions with no sign of any clear sky. On our way up the driveway to the club house we witnessed greens under water and although the rain had eased off to a downpour, we all wondered if the course was playable. Nigel `The Weatherman` Henson assured us that it would be clear in 20 minutes. We were pretty sceptical about his prediction but, truth be told, he was 100% correct. The first group teed off at our allotted tee time with a slight drizzle which lasted for 3 holes. After that we were greeted with clear skies and sunshine. The water that was on the greens had disappeared thanks to the great drainage that Pattavia has and although it was soggy underfoot, we all got around with no further rain and a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by one and all. It was particularly pleasing for our two new members, Craig Dows and Trevor Taylor as well as the soon to be departing Ian Duers.
Despite the wet underfoot conditions there was some great scoring with Nigel heading the field with 37 points just ahead of Pattavia resident, Kevin LaBar. Third place went to Craig Dows with 35 who edged out Billy Buchanan on a countback.
