March 3 is the 2 anniversary of the passing of the original owner of the Links Hotel and golf society
PHIL DAVIES.
To celebrate the occasion we played eastern star golf course and all friends and relations were invited to come along to help preserve the memory of PHIL for a day.
14 groups were filled and the day started with the first group hitting off at 09 40 in ideal conditions. Eastern star is a tricky course with plenty of water trouble and on most holes and every green is difficult if you position your golf ball in the wrong position.
The winner of the memorial game and green jacket winner was Paul Greaves who totalled 39 points ,being 3 under his handicap to record a 1 point win from Paul Smith with 38 ,being the only other player today to break there handicap.
John Byrne was third with 35
Pat Levin had 34 taking fourth on a countback from Soren Hanssen.
Sixth on a countback was Alan Atwell from Dave Hayes with 33 .
Eighth was Craig Does on a 3 way countback ahead of Niall Caven and Steve Moxey with 32 points .
A family affair with 2 of the near pins going to George Mueller and Mai and the other 2 near pins was collected by Claus Cha and Gordon Laviolette.
