In a tale of triumph and tribulation on a beautifully manicured golf course (which, to be fair, did have more than its fair share of “surprise” fairways), the Links boys faced a tougher day than expected – tighter than a golfer’s waistband after the 19th!
From massive horde of hackers, only four brave souls managed to break the mystical 30-point mark, while the rest were left shaking their heads in disbelief. Scores ranged from a staggering five points (hey, at least they didn’t get negative!) to a respectable 33 points. We had six players chalking up 25 points and four others eking out 27.
But as usual, a couple of familiar faces were determined to rise above the rest. The comeback king, Andy Kelleher, decided to emerge from beneath his sickbed covers to snatch first place—much to the delight of the fans, who were cheering loudly out of sheer relief! In second place, after an intense and definitely not complicated countback was Dave Dunne. He narrowly edged out the ever-present Steve Elles, who’s claiming the title of “Champion of Second Place” yet again although he was Third
Solid as a rock was Dave Heyes in fourth, while Vic Hanson slipped into fifth with 29 points and a side of lamentations over his numerous side bets. Thanks to a four-way countback (no, this isn’t a new interrogation technique), Jake Thomas managed to sneak into the sixth spot, proving once again that persistence—like that one golf shoe you always seem to find—pays off!
Here’s how they stacked up:
1st: Andy Kelleher (13) – 33 points
2nd: Dave Dunne (17) – 31 points (after enough countbacks to keep a accountant busy!)
3rd: Steve Elles (9) – 31 points
4th: Dave Heyes (24) – 30 points
5th: Vic Hanson (12) – 29 points (and still wondering where his bets went)
6th: Jake Thomas (17) – 27 points (and a whole lot of counting)
