We took 28 golfers to Greenwood for our monthly scramble where we tackled A and B nines off the white tees. It has to be said that Greenwood was playing very long and there were a lot of wet patches on the course. Whether this was due to over-watering of the fairways by the green staff is open for debate. The greens however were in superb condition and the staff, as always, were very accommodating. Greenwood is definitely one of our favourite venues and is great value at 1600 baht all in with a PSC card.
Although it was playing long, there were still some tremendous scores with none better than the gross 65 by Paul Lanzetta and Bob Newman. The team handicap for the pair was 3.25. All told, Paul and Bob had 9 birdies as they carded a nett 61.75. The battle for runners-up position was a much closer affair with good friends Russell Blatchford and Phil Penney edging out Robby Anderson and Paul Hubbard by a quarter of a point. Russell and Phil came in with a nett score of 64.50 to Robby and Paul`s 64.75. The final podium place went to Phil Heath and Ben Gray with a nett 66.00.
Given a 9.00 tee off time we were back at The Snug by 15.00 where multiple refreshments were enjoyed before the winners were presented with the Billy Buchanan Cup.
A special thanks to Nigel Henson for helping with starting duties. Nigel has been a great supporter of our group and his help was much appreciated.

The Olde Rogues are happy to announce that we have secured 16 places at Laem Chabang on Saturday the 1st of March, St David`s Day, to commemorate the passing of Phil Davies. Phil was an icon of the Pattaya golfing fraternity and is sorely missed. Not everyone at Olde Rogues knew Phil in person but nearly everyone has heard of him.
Laem Chabang update – the 16 places have been taken and a waiting / reserve list has been generated. Unfortunately, I could not get another group.
