The midweek game we took 7 groups up to the great value Greenwood Golf Club.
The course is in fantastic condition although the greens are a little bit slow at the moment.
We were looked after very well and there was nobody in front of us so it was millionaires golf today and we got round extremely quickly.
We played B&C 9s off the white tees at 6600 yards and it played all of it but there were some great scores in.
Today’s winner has just got back from a trip home to New Zealand and was straight back into the swing of it…. Moaning and complaining to anyone that would listen but he still managed an incredible 40pts
Congratulations Tony Riemann and you tell me you can’t play the long courses!
2nd place was the Welsh Indian from Birmingham Rana Gurnam with 38pts which looked like being the winning score until the last group came in.
3rd place went to Stan Fenton with 37pts and his good form continues after his scramble win.
4th place was Jim Sykes with 36pts but an awesome back 9 of 23pts beating Marting on a count back.
5th was that man again Martin Evans with a solid 36pts. I now envelopes pre written with his name on lol.
The last spot went to the man from Preston Gary Casson with 33pts winning a 3 way countback to conclude the podium places.
