Ballyshear Golf Links was where we played and it was a fantastic day out very different to any other courses we play.
We were looked after very well from start to finish from free balls on a grass range to a lovely selection of Thai food included in the deal afterwards.
The tee box’s were perfect, fairways were like carpet and huge undulating greens ran so true.
We played the blue tees at 6200 yards in windy conditions so it was going to be a very interesting test today.
There was a runaway win for the first time in a while today and what a great knock it was congratulations to my old pal Paul Gill with 41pts with 23pts on his front 9.
Let’s hope his trophy winning rubs off on his football team Spurs but we won’t hold our breath ….. sorry mate lol
2nd place went to Gilly’s playing partner and a great friend of mine Pat Lavin with 36pts and 21pts on the back 9 to complete a great round.
3rd was another player from this group
My Geordie mate Mark Johnstone with 35pts beating 3 others on a count back with 19pts on his back 9.
4th place was myself with 35pts in a very up and down round which included 4 birdies so very happy with that.
5th place to the big left hander from Sweden Jens Svensson also with 35pts.
The final spot went to the very likeable Rick Child also with 35pts but just missing out on a very tight count back.
Thanks again to Jordan Brown for the drone footage and Pat Lavin for presentation always appreciated.
