🏌️♂️ Allan Cassin’s Week on the Fairways
Tuesday at Crystal Bay
This week’s golfing adventures began at Crystal Bay, where we played the familiar C & A loop. With just one flight, we opted to skip the formal competition. The weather was overcast, hot, and humid — not the most comfortable conditions. The course itself was in fair shape, but the recent rain had clearly taken a toll, leaving the greens painfully slow. Needless to say, it wasn’t a day for setting high scores.
One player, however, continues to rise above the pack. Once again, Allan Cassin showed why he’s the man to beat, cruising to another convincing win in our group.
Thursday at Pleasant Valley
On Thursday, we moved to Pleasant Valley, choosing to play from the white tees. We were pleased to welcome newcomer Dave Lowe to the group, along with the return of Neil Harvey. The weather followed a similar pattern — hot and overcast, with the occasional glimpse of sunshine.
The course was in decent condition, though the wet fairways offered no roll, adding an extra challenge.
The round featured a compelling contest between Allan Cassin and Neil Harvey. Neil started strong, racking up 22 points on the front nine, with Allan just two points behind on 20. But Allan’s consistency shone through on the back nine, where he calmly added another 20 points to his tally. His round included an impressive 13 pars — a testament to his steady form. Neil kept up the pressure but posted 17 points on the back, leaving Allan to claim yet another well-earned win with a total of 40 points.
As for our newest recruit, Dave Lowe — every group needs a spoon winner, and this time the honour went to him. We trust it won’t be long before he’s challenging for the top!
After returning to MyBar we celebrated Neil’s birthday with a delicious carrot cake.
