IT’S A FRENCH REVOLUTION AT CRYSTAL BAY

Our mid-week game took us up to Crystal Bay with 8 groups. It was good to meet up with old friends Darren See and Grant Pride who were up there with The Links and were scheduled to tee off after us. Between the 2 societies, Crystal Bay had a very good pay day and it was good to see some old faces again – I see Andy Kelleher is still playing golf in his tartan underpants!

There was a good breeze which, if truth be told however, did little to cool down the golfers. The course was in good condition and is a bargain at 1250 baht all in. As the title suggested, it was a day for the French to remember with 4 of the 7 podium places going to our European friends. It was Herve Pagazani who headed the field with 40 points which was a great effort off the 6,400 yards white tees. Vic Hansen came back into form with 37 which just edged the ever-consistent Jean louis Goergen on countback. Paul Tidy took 4th place with 2 other Frenchmen and a Dubliner taking the remaining places.

On the 2nd of March we will be holding a Memorial Day for Phil Davies at Bang Pakong. The `sign up` has been posted on the Line Group. Phil was a true legend of the Pattaya golf scene and is sadly missed.
