2nd Colin Greig (15) 40 points
3rd Ross Schiffke (24) 40 points
4th Uwe Jurgensen (27) 39 points
Near pins Colin Greig, Alan Sullivan, Billy Shepley, Les Cobban
How long before our luck runs out? Today not far away a massive storm raged for much of the round, yet we managed to escape it, this is now four in a row when you could have put money on us getting drenched, yet we escaped again.
The Burapha A & B nines were in excellent condition again today, some may have found the greens on the slow side otherwise no complaints. The course was virtually empty so we had a relaxed round with no hold-ups.
Normally a high scoring course today was no exception with all three at the top of the leaderboard locked together on forty points, very good scoring indeed. The winner had to be decided on the last three scores with Billy Shepley taking it from Colin Greig. Ross Schiffke could feel aggrieved at only coming third with forty points. Even fourth place with thirty nine points going to Uwe Jurgensen was also excellent. All the near pins were taken as listed.

Bangpakong Riverside.
1st Jimmy Carr (23) 40 points
2nd Uwe Jurgensen (27) 40 points
3rd Les Cobban (10) 31 points
Near pins Uwe Jurgensen, Michael Brett, & Les Cobban X 2.
Yet another lucky day today for the Bunker Boys and nothing to do with the weather this time. We arrived at the course ahead of time and were able to tee off immediately on what seemed like an empty course, we had a clear run all the way to the sixteenth when we ran up against a six-ball, who kindly let us play through on the last.
The course was in excellent condition as usual which resulted the usual good scores. A tie at the top with Jimmy Carr taking first on countback from Uwe Jurgensen, with Les Cobban in third. Uwe is in great touch at present and with two strokes on nine holes is virtually unbeatable. With a string of over forty point rounds he took out the golfer of the month for the first time, with his current handicap it won’t be his last, this month’s tally was two hundred and twenty eight points, close to a monthly record, what a way to announce yourself?
Friday, May 2nd
Bangpra
1st Gerry Cooney (26) 40 points
2nd Alan Sullivan (15) 34 points
3rd Bob Innes(23) 32 points
Near pins, Steve Downes, & Alan Sullivan X 2.
Possibly one of the worst days ever for the Bunker Boys at Bangpra today. We arrived at the course to find about six groups waiting ahead of us on the first tee so a long delay ensured. A little fun was had when a Swiss group tried to barge in ahead of us, needless to say they were politely told to go and make some cuckoo clocks.Play was painfully slow until it ground to a complete stop after six holes when inevitably the rain came lashing down, we had manyluckyescapes lately so it had to happen. After about forty minutes delay play resumed in light drizzle only to stop again on the next tee. After another twenty minutes delay we continued to the close of play. In all the round took about six hours.
Needless to say conditions were very trying with everything wet.
Inexplicably none of this had any effect on Gerry Cooney who blitzed the field with forty-one points, seven ahead of Alan Sullivan on thirty-four.
Appearing at the Bunker Boys for the first time in may years Bob Innes took third with thirty-two. Alan Sullivan dominated the near pins taking two, Steve Downes got one with one delinquent.
Despite the course being in excellent condition and the greenfee being good, it’s not an experience we wish to have again.
