Plutaluang
On Tuesday, after our morning coffee at MyBar, we set off for Plutaluang to tackle the South & East loop. It was a perfect day—sunshine with a cool breeze—and the course was in excellent condition. We all had a great time, but the course didn’t make it easy. Everyone had to work hard to finish, but one player truly stood out.
Neil Harvey put on an impressive display, finishing with a fantastic 41 points to take the win. Seamus O’Connor followed closely behind, earning 34 points to secure second place.
Meanwhile, Dave Smith had a tough time with the course and ended up with the dreaded spoon. Better luck next time, Dave!
The Near Pins went to Alan-Edward Eden, Bob Edwards, and Allan Cassin.
Crystal Bay
Thursday brought us to Crystal Bay, where we played the C & A loops. The weather was a bit more overcast, but we stayed dry while the rain poured down back in Pattaya. The course here was in good shape as well, and it felt easier than Plutaluang, which gave everyone a bit of a break.
This time, it was Maurice Paradis who was the star of the day, finishing with a solid 39 stableford points. Neale Savery wasn’t far behind, claiming the runner-up spot with 37 points.
Mark, on the other hand, had a rough day, fading after the 14th hole and missing the last four. To keep the spirit up, he earned the spoon as motivation for next week’s competition.
Near Pins for the day went to Robert Charbonneau (who took two!) and Nigel Irvine.
