Our first event of the high season saw us take 4 groups up to Greenwood. Although they have raised their prices due to it being high season, it is still a bargain at 1600 baht or 1100 baht to walk. B & C nines were the challenges today although a reprieve was given by playing off the yellow tees and it was good to welcome back Steve Mabbett.
Although the region had been hit by some heavy overnight rain, it was a very hot and humid day for our golfers with no to little breeze. The Scottish members of our groups were quick to wind up our American friends about the 85-0 drubbing the Lionhearts gave the Yanks at the Rugby on Saturday. In hindsight, this maybe backfired somewhat as Mike Babb and Jim Miller extracted sweet revenge by taking first and second. Mike came home with 40 points and Jim shot 38 with the nearest challenger being Garry Crystal with 36. Lee Smith and Ian Fraser fought out the remaining places with Lee edging out Ian on a countback after both returned 35 points.
