Neil Harvey’s week
On Tuesday we went to Greenwood, where we the B & C loop played. It was an overcast day with dark clouds sometimes and also some sunny periods. There was not much wind and it was hot and humid. The course was in good condition, despite the rain in the night before. The course was quite wet and there was not much roll.
It was an interesting day with an exciting finish. There were on the last hole 3 contenders, Neil Harvey, Allan Cassin and Seamus Oconnor. Seamus had the best front nine with 21 points, Allan, the worst with 16 points and Neil in the middle with 19 points. Allan came back on the back nine and Seamus didn’t control his nerves on the last hole. Neil kept going and won with 38 stable ford points . Allan became runner up with 37 points. Seamus was 3rd with 36 points.
Alan Wilson was good for the spoon.
The near pins were for Bob Edwards, Jamie and Patrick Troy.
On Thursday was our venue Pleasant Valley. The weather conditions were about the same as Tuesday. It was again a warm and humid day. The course was in reasonable condition despite the rain in the morning.
It was not an easy day to play, but half our group played in the sixties. Neil Harvey showed his good form this week. He played very consistent and nobody could follow him. He won with 39 stable ford points. Maurice Paradis became runner up with 34 points.
Seamus Oconnor showed that a week can have ups and downs and received the spoon.
The near pins were for Patrick Troy (2X), Dave Smith and Gary Lees.
