🐒 Back to the Monkey Course – Bangpra

Tuesday morning greeted us with sunshine and the promise of a great day. We welcomed Steve Lunt to the group and headed off to Bangpra, where the course was in excellent condition. The monkeys, however, were nowhere to be seen—perhaps it was too warm even for them.

With three flights, the competition was set to be exciting. But despite the good conditions, Bangpra proved to be a tough challenge. Only two players managed to break the 30-point barrier, and a few struggled to even reach the 20s.

Nigel Irvine, playing off the lowest handicap, showed his class with a solid 33 points. Neale Savery matched his score and kept pace admirably, but Nigel edged him out on countback to take the win.

Mark, perhaps distracted by the elusive monkeys, took home the spoon.
Near pins: Sam Jeffery, Robin Simons, and Steve Lunt.

🌿 Beautiful Khao Kheow

Thursday’s venue was the stunning Khao Kheow, where we played the A & B loops. With another strong turnout of three flights, we were treated to one of the region’s finest courses in top condition. The weather was perfect, and many enjoyed excellent support from their caddies.

Despite the pristine greens and fairways, scoring remained tough. Just like Tuesday, only two players broke into the 30s. But this time, it was Sam Jeffery who stole the show with a commanding 32 points, followed closely by Allan Cassin with 31points.

Dave Smith earned the spoon—perhaps still feeling the effects of last week’s birthday festivities.
Near pins: Sam Jeffery and Gary Lees.
