Neil Harvey on fire at Greenwood
On Tuesday, the last day of 2024, we closed our 2024-competition at Greenwood. It was a beautiful day with a blue sky and a nice cool breeze. A wonderful to play golf. As normal at Greenwood was the course in good condition. It promised to become a day with good scores. We had a good turnout with 4 groups. And we welcomed Robert Pentland as new member in our society.
The course wasn’t that easy, because the whites were placed far back and the greens were also a challenge. Nevertheless, we had 1 star in our competition. Neil Harvey was in excellent form and played the stars from heaven. He won with 42 stable ford points. It was a strong battle to become runner up. The lucky one was Maurice Paradis with 34 points, beating Neale Savery and Bob Edwards on the count back.
The spoon was for Stepen Ford, but he was the only one with the only near pin.
Allan Cassin first winner in 2025
On Thursday we started the New Year at Crystal Bay, where we the C & A loop played. It was again a beautiful day with a nice sun and cool breeze. To our surprise was the course in much better condition than we expected. Only the tee boxes were too rough and the bunkers were also poor. It is pity that they don’t spend a little bit more attention on maintenance.
It was surprising that everybody was quite fresh after New Years eve. Although only one broke his handicap were the results quite good. Allan Cassin as topper of 2024 showed a good form and the intention that he has winning plans for 2025. He won with 37 stable ford points. Bob Edwards, one of our other toppers became runner up with 35 points.
The spoon was for Mike Malott.
The near pins were Mark Bromwich, Mike Malott and Stephen Ford.
