The Links Golf Society Report. Pattana humbles all.

Pattana Golf Club is always a little tricky, with an abundance of water and narrow fairways, and is able to humble many golfers. Today was no different. As we stood there on the 1st tee, B Course, watching ball after ball sale into the water, our confidence was disappearing quickly. the fairways seemed a little wet in areas, despite the fact no rain has fallen for weeks. The greens were difficult and impossible if you found yourself above the pin. I heard stories of 3 and 4 putts all day.
On a day where the course dominated, there was only two scores passing the 30 points mark. One such player was Kenny Price, who fresh of his win at Pleasant Valley and a handicap reduction, managed to score 33 points. Second place belonged to a newcomer to Links, Ross Luchterhand, who managed a credible 32. The ever present George Mueller came in at third place on 29 points. Steve Elles, our perennial bridesmaid, was out of the bridal party this time, but still managed a fourth place and a compensatory price. Despite, Doyley using the cart path to great effect on the 1st adding an extra 200 metres and avoiding the water at the same time, there was no placing for him today.
