The boys returned to Crystal Bay today, where the sun was shining, the breeze was gentle, and the fairways were—believe it or not—actually improving. Ideal conditions… which of course meant half the field immediately ran out of excuses.
Today’s sartorial superstar is the much-travelled Pete Shaw (17), who racked up 36 points and then pinched the win on a countback. Pete has now officially collected more green jackets than some people collected stableford points.
Right behind him, also on 36, was Trace Fairley (12), who played well enough to win—just not well enough to beat the dreaded countback monster.
The ever-reliable Soren Hansen (17) took third with 34 points, proving once again that consistency beats chaos… unless your name is Pete Shaw.
It was The Al Humphries Show out there, with Al scooping up both the 7th and 17th. Rumour has it he’s already applied for appearance fees for Friday.
