Probably the most comfortable day of the summer golf season greeted the Links golfers At Pattavia Resort today, with a pleasant 27 degrees, a light breeze and only the slightest hint of rain. In short, perfect golfing conditions
Nine players teed it up, and the standout performance of the day came from Green Jacket winner Bob ( the doctor ) Watson. Playing off 8, Bob compiled an outstanding 38 points despite recording three three-putts during his round.
Second place went to Graham Priest from our sister club in South Australia. Playing off 13, Graham returned an excellent 36 points.
The ever-consistent Rod Knight claimed third place with 34 points off his handicap of 8, while Grant Pride finished fourth with 33 points playing off 7.
The nearest-the-pin prize was won by Roy Holland, the new coaching professional from Golf Hub. Roy has recently joined the links golf society group and was welcomed by the members today.
While he claimed the near pin, he unfortunately followed it up with a three-putt.
Roy is now coaching out of the Golf Hub, and we look forward to seeing plenty more of him on the course.
Wednesday’s game will be at Treasure Hill. Tee-off is at 10:00 am, with the bus departing at 8:30 am.
The pleasant 27°C temperatures and light winds certainly sound like ideal scoring conditions, and the results reflected it.
