We took 16 players up to Pattavia on what was a stifling hot day with no breeze. It has to be said that the course was in excellent condition with the greens getting close to be the fearsome challenge of old.
It was a warm welcome to South African Steve Newlan and a sad farewell to John Coetzee. John has struggled somewhat but came storming into contention today. It was Russell Blatchford however who shot 42 points to top the podium with John a runner-up with 39 points. John had 24 points on the front nine and 15 coming home. Russell tailed John by 5 shots after the front nine but came charging home with 23 on the homeward nine.
