We arrived to bright sunshine but in the distance was a huge storm brewing which we didn’t manage to avoid on the back 9.
The course was in great shape and is becoming a big favourite with the players.
We played A@B 9s at 6250 yards and there were many players that were in contention to win after 9 holes but the storm separated the men from the boys with some deciding to go in! (Aussies) lol
We finally got going again and the course was pretty waterlogged for a few holes then it drained very well.
In the end we had our first Japanese winner Ken Ishikawa with a very impressive 40pts. Congratulations Ken a great round in them conditions.
2nd place was my playing partner and big hitting American Shane Thomason with 37pts. Shane had 22pts at the turn but the weather interrupted his rhythm to cost him the victory.
3rd place was Chris Barker with 35pts and another player who was flying on the front 9 with 21pts but limped home with 14pts on the back.
4 place went to new comer Luke Birchall from the UK with 34pts and also winning 2 near pins so a fantastic debut and didn’t let the rain affect him with 19pts on the back 9
The last spot went to my playing partner Mr Podium Martin Evans with 34pts just missing out on a countback to Luke.
Another solid day on the course.
