Thanks to the course for squeezing extra players in and getting us away early.
We had 6 new players today from all around the world and it was great to see you have a fantastic day.
The course was in great condition and the greens the best they have been for a while.
We played the white tees 6400 yards so a real test for the players.
We had the final of the Race to Phuket which I had the pleasure of witnessing
It was a very tight affair which went backwards and forwards on the front 9 with John McGee going 3 up early then Colm Pegged him back to all square at the turn. John edged into the lead on the back 9 and never relinquished that lead. He finally won 2&1 on the very tough 220 yard par 3 17th. Congratulations John
Out of the 8 groups today only one player managed to break par which shows the difficulty of this tough layout.
Today’s winner was Paul Gill with an impressive 38pts shooting 19pts on each 9
to secure a 2 shot victory but will face a 2 shot cut because he’s a bandit lol
2nd place went to my playing partner who has just arrived from Kangaroo land for a few weeks. Well played Mick Fabre with 36pts which was a great achievement after scratching the 1st after a wild tee shot into the piss on the left.
3rd place went to another Aussie Alan Bate with a solid 35 beating Pat on a count back
Nice birdie to finish on 18 mate.
4th place was the old shuffler who never has a bad day. Well played Pat Lavin also with 35pts.
The last spot went to another Aussie big Johnny Gray with a solid 32pts to complete the podium places.
