We took 7 groups to Plutaluang on what turned out to be a long, long day. Normally the organisation at the Navy Course is excellent but a shortage of carts and caddies along with no significant reduction in costs for players sharing a cart and caddy certainly raised a few eyebrows. It also added significantly to the time of the round.
It was certainly a day of low scoring with Nigel Henson the only player in our 7 groups to record a par round of 36 points. Mike Ehlert looked as if he might take the lead with a front 9 on the North course of 21 points but he fell away on the homeward stretch to come home with 34 points which was still good enough for the runners-up slot.
