BANGPRA
This weekTuesday we returned to Bangpra, fondly known as the “monkey course.” It had been a few months since our last visit, and with four groups heading out, we enjoyed a perfect day of golf. The course was in fine condition—long and demanding—but the cooling breeze made the hot weather bearable. Even the monkeys seemed too warm to cause any mischief.
The challenge of the course was reflected in the scores. Only one player managed to beat his handicap: Robert Charbonneau, who finished with an impressive 37 Stableford points. Tony Oakes also played a solid round, securing runner‑up with 35 points.
Meanwhile, Willem Lasonder found the monkeys a little too distracting and took home the spoon.

RAINBOW AT PATTAYA COUNTRY CLUB
On Thursday, Mark Bromwich organized a rainbow competition at Pattaya Country Club, drawing 16 enthusiastic golfers. Once again, the day was hot, but a strong breeze kept spirits high. The course was in excellent condition and encouraged strong scoring—and the rainbow format clearly inspired careful planning.
The results were outstanding: no one scored below 30 points, and six players reached 40 or more. The standout performance came from Gary Lees, who claimed “man of the day” honors with 43 Stableford points. Willem Lasonder followed closely as runner‑up with 42 points.
The power proved too much for Steve Sturley, who received the spoon.

Farewell
This week we also bid farewell to Mike Malott, Peter Pendlebury, and Patrick Troy, who are returning to their home countries. We look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
