We took 8 groups to Bangpra for our first game of the week on what is traditionally a very difficult course to score on with fast greens and difficult pin positions. Given a 11.30 tee time we were told we could tee off more or less as soon as we arrived. As appears to be the norm just now, it was another very hot day with little wind to cool the players down. It was good to welcome the 3 lads from Perth, Australia to join us along with some newbies from Denmark.
It was an Australian who led the way. Maurie Denton was runner-up at Greenwood on Friday but he went one better today by coming home with 39 points. Patrick Haly of France was runner-up with 38 points – with Tony Browne and John Coey being the others to break the par of 36 points.
On Wednesday we are at Pattaya Country Club where we are limited to 12 groups so regretfully, we cannot take any more participants. Thanks to Scottie Brown for enabling us to play at PCC at an all-in price of 1800 baht.
Just as a heads up, on the evening of the 17th of March, there will be a St. Patrick`s Day bash at The Snug. Although not a golf day, all are invited which is sure to be a night to remember.
