🌟 Super Week for Mabprachan
🏌️♂️ Beautiful Bangpakong
Thursday’s golf outing took us to the picturesque Bangpakong course. Morning coffee was served with a side of skepticism—the skies were grey, and light rain lingered. Some opted out, but the weather quickly turned in favor of those who forged ahead. Upon arrival, the clouds parted and the rain disappeared, setting the stage for a fantastic day on an excellent course.
Bangpakong’s challenges demanded full focus, and an exciting duel unfolded between David Lyon and Allan Cassin. David, showing great form, secured his second society win with 38 Stableford points, narrowly edging out Allan, who finished runner-up with 37 points.
John Pegrum took home the spoon. No near pins were recorded.
⛳️ Challenging Laem Chabang
Later in the week, we hit the renowned Laem Chabang course—arguably one of the toughest in the region. This event was extra special, as we played by invitation of Dave Smith to celebrate his 60th birthday. 🎉
The sun shone brightly and a gentle breeze kept spirits high. The course was pristine, with water hazards sprinkled generously to keep players on their toes. We had five flights tackling both the Lake and Valley courses, each presenting their own trials. Top-tier players fared well, but the rest of us found ourselves reaching for extra balls.
Allan Cassin once again showcased his consistent form, claiming victory with 38 Stableford points. Derek Phillips followed with 36, while Lee Perram secured third place on countback ahead of Peter Chai Tsai.
A unique twist was the red ball challenge—each flight began with one red ball, played in rotation. Only Allan Cassin’s flight managed to return theirs intact, earning the prize!
Dave Lowe, dazzled by the day’s difficulties, took home the spoon.
Near pins went to Nigel Irving and Tony Oakes.
After returning to MyBar, we capped off the day with a festive birthday bash for Dave—complete with a buffet, plenty of drinks, and a delicious cake.
