Challenging Greenwood — Low Turnout, High Spirits
Tuesday took us to Greenwood, where we tackled the B & C loops with all the enthusiasm five people can muster. Yes — just five players. A small but mighty group. The weather was overcast, humid, and hot enough to make a golf glove feel like a sauna mitt.
The course itself was in good condition — too good, perhaps, as it didn’t give up high scores easily. Greenwood likes to remind us who’s boss. In a close contest, Neale Savery edged out Sam by just a single point, finishing with 34 Stable ford points to Sam’s 33. Neck and neck, but Neale had that one extra whisper of luck (or was it a friendly bounce?).
No near pins today, and the spoon took another rest — maybe it’s on holiday?
Back at MyBar, we ditched the competition stress for celebration mode. It was birthday time for Sam and Peter. There were cakes, of course — but Peter upped the game with a homemade Swedish pie that had us all briefly considering culinary school. A sweet ending to a sweaty day.
Beautiful Khao Kheow — Three Men and a Golf Cart
Thursday saw us at the ever-reliable Khao Kheow, taking on the A & B loops. The turnout? Let’s call it “exclusive” — just three diehards showed up. At this point, we’re one golfer short of forming a boy band. It had been a while since our last visit, and the course greeted us like an old friend who actually worked on himself — great shape, welcoming fairways, and just enough breeze to keep the sweat at bay. A real treat.Competition-wise, Allan Cassin was in zero mercy mode again. While the rest of us tried to remember how to putt, he casually racked up 36 points, proving once more that form is temporary, but Allan is permanent.
No near pins, no spoon — just a quiet, breezy day with golf, good company, and no witnesses to our triple bogeys.Top of Form
