Patrick Troy and Willem Lasonder on fire at Greenwood
On Tuesday we went with 5 groups to Greenwood, where we the C & A loop played. We had again a big turnout, but for some of us was it the last game in this holiday. The course was in very good condition, very nice to play here. The weather was warm and little bit humid. A breeze made it sometimes better to survive.
We welcomed Patrick Troy from Ireland again. During the morning coffee he claimed to have a jet lag and bad sleeping in the night. But on the course, you could not see it. He played a fantastic round. Moreover, it was a good day for many of us with good results. Patrick was the man of the day and won with 44 stable ford points. Willem Lasonder came close to him and became runner up with 43 points.
The spoon was this time for Michael Cunningham
The near pins were for Sam Jeffery, Seamus Oconnor and Nigel Irvine.
Hard Mountain Shadow
On Thursday was our venue, Mountain Shadow. It was not a clear day. On our drive to the course, we saw the smog hanging to the mountains. It was warm again, but we got a breeze what the day wearable made. The course was in good condition, but it was not easy to play.
For a few of us was it also the last game before going home. They cannot wait to come back at the end of the year. Willem Lasonder was in good form this week and after the second place on Tuesday did, he his best to win today. And with success, winner with 34 stable ford points. Mark Bromwich played a fantastic back nine with 23 points, but just not enough for the victory. He became runner up with 33 points.
Mike Malott picked the spoon today.
The near pins were for Dave Lyon, Mick Bryan (2X) and Patrick Troy.
