Crystal Bay
1st Takeshi Hakozaki (15) 37 points
2nd Steve Downes (7) 33 points
3rd Uwe Jurgensen (24) 30 points
Near pins Takeshi Hakozaki & Steve Downes.
Crystal Bay was in the best condition we have seen for a long time. The fairways were very good, a couple of tees needed attention as did a few bunkers, the greens are still recovering from coring and sanding and were a bit variable in speed and bumpy, overall most were happy with the course and would have no hesitation playing there again.
It didn’t go unnoticed that the maintenance staff were busy cutting the grass on the B nine which has been out of play for years, one has to wonder why when they could have put work into the nines in play.
It seems like Takeshi Hakozaki knows exactly when to play at the Bunker Boys as he wins just about every time he plays as he did again today with thirty-seven points. A remarkable collapse from Steve Downes who wiped the last two holes when a better score beckoned only to see him slip to second place. Uwe Jurgensen rounded out the winners circle with thirty points.
Remarkably only two near pins were taken going to the first and second place takers.

Burapha
1st Frank Dartford (25) 40 points
2nd Tony Robbins (24) 36 points
3rd Bob Innes (23) 36 points
Near pins Frank Dartford, John Webb, & Alan Sullivan X 2.
Burapha, our premium course for the month was the venue for the second last game of the month. An overcast day kept temperatures comfortable and the rain which threatened all day never came. The course was in superb condition apart from the tee boxes, recently they had been sprayed with weed killer which was so effective that it killed the grass as well so they were completely bare and had to be sanded to try and recover them, a curious mistake from such a course.
A first for Frank Dartford today winning with forty points. A tie for second and third with Tony Robbins edging out Bob Innes on countback. Alan Sullivan dominated the near pins taking two with one each going to Frank Dartford and John Webb.
At this we have twelve confirmed for next month’s trip to Kabin Buri so finally an ambrose is on the cards.

Pattavia.
1st Gerry Cooney (23) 44 points
2nd Steve Downes (7) 39 points
3rd Craig Dows (8) 36 points
Near pins Uwe Jurgensen, Alan Sullivan, Gerry Cooney.
The second last game of the month was played at Pattavia. A frustrating day for most as a big group split into two were out ahead of the first and tenth tees playing rainbow as slowly as its possible to play. Despite repeated subtle hints they seemed unable to speed up their pace of play, the joys of slow play again. Even the pro circuit are starting to get vocal about slow play.
The course was in good order but the greens were as usual fast and difficult. Nobody obviously told Gerry Cooney who blew everyone away with forty-four points, not bad for an eighty-two year old. Steve Downes took second place with thirty nine point’s while Craig Dows took third with thirty-six points. After Wednesday’s heroics Frank Dartford was nowhere to be seen in the low twenties, such is golf. Three of four near pins were taken as listed. It looks like Steve Downes has wrapped up golfer of the month with one game left unless Rob Folland can do something special on Monday.
Takeshi Hakozaki, winner at Crystal Bay.
Gerry Cooney, winner at Pattavia.
