The Olde Rogues continued with good numbers taking 5 groups to Mountain Shadow. Regardless of the changing facilities and clubhouse, Mountain Shadow is a very challenging course with some great holes. Arguably, it has the hardest hole in our rotation in the par 5 14th hole. The course was in very good condition and although the greens were quite slow, they were running true. At 1250 baht it is certainly great value. It was good to welcome back our good friend Bob Stokes who celebrated his return with a podium place.
The slow greens were certainly to the benefit of Billy Buchanan and John Fallon with both coming home with 39 points. Billy`s 21 on the back nine just edged out John by 1 point. The remaining places were also decided on countbacks with Steve Mabbett, Bob Stokes and the ever-consistent Michel DeLa Trez all posting 36 points. Steve just pipped Bob to 3rd place on a better last 6 holes.
Just as a quick reminder, our Club Championship commences at Pleasant Valley on 28th November. The format is the same as last year with the best 3 rounds out of 4 determining the winner. Round 2 will be at Bang Pakong, round 3 at Pattavia with the final round at Greenwood.
