BANGPRA
On Tuesday morning, ten motivated players set off from MyBar for Bangpra. The cloudy skies kept us pleasantly cool, and even the monkeys decided it was too warm to bother us.
The course was in fine condition but offered plenty of challenges, so high scores were never expected. Still, it was an enjoyable round, with Gary Lees emerging as the man of the day. He played consistently well and finished with 37 Stableford points. Allan Cassin followed as runner‑up with 33 points.
At the other end of the leaderboard, Mark Bromwich found the water hazards just a touch more troublesome than Willem Lasonder, earning himself the spoon.
Only two near pins were claimed, both by Dave Smith.
BANGPAKOMG RIVERSIDE
Thursday’s venue was Bangpakong Riverside — a longer drive than usual, but always worth the journey. We were delighted to welcome back Neale Savery to the group. The day began overcast, but the sun soon broke through, and a strong breeze made conditions very agreeable.
The course was in excellent shape and a pleasure to play, which showed in the results. Only two players failed to reach 30 points. Allan Cassin had a fine day, demonstrating that his form is returning. He impressively drove the ball onto every par‑3 green, though two near pins were taken from him. His steady play earned him victory with 40 Stableford points. Dave Smith continued his good run, finishing runner‑up with 38 points.
Meanwhile, our returning traveler Neale Savery is still searching for his rhythm and took home the spoon.
Near pins went to Allan Cassin (2), Mark Bromwich, and Neil Harvey.
