The midweek game for links and the last of the low season course prices was the picturesque Eastern Star Golf Course.
Teeing off the yellow markers today to make the most of the wet conditions and lack of run on the fairways ,the links golfers enjoyed some very close scores with only a few shots seperating the top 6 golfers today .
The green jacket winner today was Freddy Starbeck with 39 points winning on a countback from Dave Arataki also on 39 with the countback going down to individual hole scores.
Third today was Soren Hansen with a respectable 38 points ,1 shot adrift from another countback between John Logue and Steve Moxey with 37.
The low single marker Petur Peterson had to settle for 6 th with a very good score for eastern star of 36 points .
A terrific scoring feat for the players to equal or break there handicap at a difficult course today.
The bucket of beers was also won by our winner today Freddy starbeck with a lazy 8 iron to a couple of yards .
