We finished the golfing week with our Phil Davies Memorial Day at Khao Kheow, 1st of all I’d like to thank Pat Lavin and Greg Smith for sponsoring the day in memory of Phil, it’s fair to say, a great day was had by all.
Today we played off the white tees on the B&C 9’s, thanks to the starter for getting a few groups away on C to speed things up, the course is a fantastic layout with some great backdrops, it was in decent condition too and our golfers today took full advantage.
We had 21 pairs and the loveable Kiwi Tony Reiman play a 2 ball scramble, each player needed 9 tee shots each including 2 par 3s, this kept things interesting down the stretch.
Today’s winners was myself and Phil Starrett shooting 47pts including 5 birdies and 2 bogeys, dovetailed pretty well, especially on our back 9, well played mate, was a pleasure.
2nd place was the deadly duo of John Molloy and Paul Sarkisian, a fantastic 46pts getting 2nd on a very tight CB, a solid round.
3rd place was a pair of Aussie new comers put together on Friday morning, also with 46pts just missing out on 2nd, well done to Cam Branci and Gareth Lewis, great score lads, well played.
4th place with 44pts was my playing partners Phil Ashton and John Doyle, a solid round which just stumbled a little on the last few holes, enjoyable day playing with you both
5th and final place also with 44pts just missing out on CB was David Hay and Justin Pardy, solid knock lads, well played.
