Another week of golf comes to a close and we finished with 8 groups competing at Eastern Star which was incredibly quiet for a Friday in high season.
The course was in decent shape but some of the greens still have a long was to go before they are back to the standard we expect from here.
We played the white tees at 6575 yards
Which is always a good test for the players
Especially with so many tough tee shots involving water.
Only two players managed to break par out of a large field but that’s pretty normal for this tricky Layout.
Today’s winner has won multiple times on the European tour but today it was his time at the Sports hub shooting 2 under par 70 for 38pts. Steve is the nicest most down to earth guy you will meet loves a beer after and shares stories of playing with Seve, Langer and many others.
He is offering lessons at our simulator so if you need help with your game he’s the man to see.
2nd place went to new comer Gordon smith with an impressive 37pts with 20pts on the front 9. Great round mate.
3rd place was the 84 year old magician Arthur Tattersall with 33pts winning a 3 way countback.
4th place went to the big Aussie John Lowe also with 33pts.
5th place was Guy Stewart again with 33pts but what a tale of two halves 21pts and 12pts.
The last spot went to the Big Man In fine form Shane Thomason with 32pts beating Donal Coffey on a count back.
