We opened the week with a trip up to the fantastic Royal Lakeside and as always we were looked after very well and got away 30 minutes early.
The course never fails to impress everyone and that’s why it’s worth the extra 20 minutes travelling.
We played the white tees at 6250 yards but there was plenty of run on the fairways so it played pretty short and the scores reflected that.
Today’s winner has been in great form and getting many podium finishes recently but today he put a great round together so congratulations to the very likeable Martin Evans with 41pts.
2nd place was Phil Thompson with an impressive 39pts playing along side Martin
That was Phil’s last game before heading back to London. Thanks for all the support you will be missed. Safe travels
3rd place was myself with 38pts which was my first podium for a while but that golf course always brings the best out of me.
4th place was the legend John Pearce also with 38pts just missing out on a count back. 83 years old still playing great golf and also great fun to have around the sports hub. What an inspiration!
