Our mid-week saw us take 4 groups to Pleasant Valley on what was another hot and humid day. The course was in very good condition with fast greens and some very difficult pin positions. With PSC providing green fee vouchers at 600 baht, many players took the opportunity to walk at 400 baht which was quite a considerable saving by not using a cart.
Nigel Henson has been on a good run and his good form continued when he was victorious for the 2nd time this week. His 39 points was 3 clear of his nearest challengers George Wilson and Tony Browne. The final podium place went to George Mueller. A special word of praise must go to Brendon Kane. Brendon, who plays off 7, shot 20 points on the front 9 and hit a good drive around the corner on the long 10th hole. After failing to find his ball he declared the ball lost only to find the ball a further 20 yards up the fairway from where they were looking. Brendon declared that he had his 3 minutes looking for the ball and picked the ball up. Great sportsmanship.
