🏌️♂️ Bangpakong Riverside – Tuesday
We gathered for coffee at MyBar before setting off on the long drive to Bangpakong. A strong turnout of 14 players joined, with a few familiar faces returning and newcomer John Dean warmly welcomed into the group.
The course was in excellent condition, and the weather couldn’t have been better—pleasant sunshine with a refreshing breeze. Perfect scoring conditions were on offer, and the results reflected that.
- The lowest score of the day was 32 Stableford points, unusually high for the “spoon.”
- The field stayed tightly bunched, with only three players pulling ahead.
- The winner was decided dramatically on the final hole, where Seamus O’Connor sealed victory with a birdie, finishing on 43 points.
- Willem Lassonder claimed runner-up with 40 points, edging out Thomas Kelly on countback.
- At the other end, Bob Edwards and newcomer John Dean battled for the spoon, with John taking it on countback.
🎯 Near Pins: Sam Jeffery, Thomas Kelly, Robert Charbonneau, and Seamus O’Connor.
🌞 Eastern Star – Thursday
Thursday brought a later start and a relaxed morning coffee before play at Eastern Star. We welcomed back Mike Mallot, along with several new guests: Monic Desrochers and Mark Beaudain from Canada, and Ric from the UK. A fantastic turnout of 18 players made for a lively day.
The course was in very good condition, though its challenging layout showed in the scores. Despite the fine weather—bright sunshine with a gentle breeze—most players struggled to match their handicaps.
- Only one player managed to play to handicap: Mike Mallot, who celebrated his birthday in style by winning with 38 points.
- Bob Edwards secured runner-up with 34 points.
- Alan Edward Eden took home the spoon.
🎯 Near Pins: Allan Cassin, Nigel Irvin, and Maurice Paradis.
