IAN’S WEEK

Pattana – Tuesday

Only seven players gathered at MyBar on Tuesday morning for the trip to Pattana, but the smaller group didn’t stop us from having a fantastic day. The weather was overcast, pleasantly cool, and a light breeze made for perfect golfing conditions. We were happy to welcome back Ian Lingard after his stay in Europe.

The course was in excellent condition, and we played the A & B loops, including the long par‑6 on A. Pattana is a long and challenging track, but it seems Ian’s European break did him good — his form was clearly upgraded. He played very consistently and won the day with 38 Stableford points.

Runner‑up: Peter Chai Tsai with 36 points.

With no competition at the bottom, John Pegrum collected the spoon.

Near pins: Peter Chai Tsai, Allan Cassin, and Ian Lingard.

Pattaya Country Club – Thursday

On Thursday our venue was Pattaya Country Club. Again, we enjoyed beautiful overcast weather in the morning, followed later by sunshine and a refreshing breeze. Twelve motivated players took off from MyBar for the competition.

The course was in very good condition and promised good scoring — and the results proved it. Everyone finished in the 30s or better. The man of the day, once again, was Ian Lingard, continuing his excellent form with long drives and confident putting. He finished with an impressive 45 Stableford points. Runner‑up: John Dean, also playing very well with 43 poins.

Three players ended up at the bottom, but Mark Bromwich lost the countback and received the spoon.

Near pins: Ian Lingard and Nealke Savery.
