PATTANA
On Tuesday we travelled with five motivated players to Pattana, where we played the A & B loops. It was a pleasant day — half cloudy with a refreshing breeze. The course was in good condition, but long and certainly not easy.
High scores were hard to achieve. Allan Cassin and Willem Lasonder kept their rounds steady and both finished with 30 Stableford points. Allan claimed the win on countback, just edging out Willem.
No near pins or spoon were played for this round.
PATTAYA COUNTRY CLUB
On Thursday we went with ten players to Pattaya Country Club. It was an overcast day with a good breeze, and the course was in very good condition — perfect for strong results.
It turned into an exciting competition with many scores in the high 30s. Only one could be the best, and that honour went to Tony Oakes, our birthday boy, who played very consistently and finished with an impressive 41 points.
John Dean warmed up on the front nine and then delivered a crushing back nine with 25 points, securing the runner‑up spot with a total of 39 points.
Meanwhile, Willem Lasonder decided it was time to take home the spoon again after a few weeks without one.
