PATTAVIA
On a beautiful Tuesday morning, twelve motivated players set off for Pattavia. We were pleased to welcome our well‑known guest, Hidde Bijl. The course was in excellent condition, inviting us to an exciting round of golf. Clouds and a cooling breeze made play comfortable, though the sky occasionally turned dark, and a brief shower passed over the back nine.
The competition was thrilling, with the winner only decided on the final hole. The man of the day was Nigel Irvine, scoring 38 Stableford points. Neil Harvey followed closely as runner‑up with 36 points.
Dave Smith struggled to find his form and received the spoon.
Near pins went to Tony Oakes, Hidde Bijl, and Ricc Batt.
KHAO KHEOW
Thursday’s venue was Khao Kheow, where we played the C & B loops. It was another warm day with a pleasant breeze. Only six players joined the competition, but all were highly motivated. We were surprised to find the clubhouse and locker rooms under renovation, yet the temporary solutions worked well. The course itself was in fine condition, and we enjoyed our day thoroughly.
The layout proved challenging, with no one managing to break their handicap. Nevertheless, Allan Cassin rediscovered his form and claimed victory with 35 Stableford points. Ricc Batt followed closely in second place with 34 points.
Hidde Bijl impressed with long drives, though his finishing touch was missing, earning him the spoon.
