MOUNTAIN SHADOW
On Tuesday we gathered for coffee to go to Mountain Shadow. Over coffee, we warmly welcomed back Lonnie Johnson, Stephen Lunt and Seamus Oconnor. It was a beautiful sunny morning with a pleasant breeze, and the course looked to be in fine condition—though the poorly maintained bunkers stood out as a disappointment. With its many trees, the course proved to be as challenging as ever.
Despite the favorable weather, only four players managed to score in the 30s, and no one reached their handicap. The day, however, belonged to our Canadian friends. Maurice Paradis claimed victory with 35 Stableford points, while Robert Charbonneau followed closely as runner‑up with 33 points.
Willem Lasonder returned to the group but, unfortunately, went home with the spoon.
Near pins: Maurice Paradis (3) and Steve Lunt.
BANGPAKONG
Thursday began with coffee at MyBar on a foggy morning, where we welcomed John Brennan for his first round with us. By the time we reached Bangpakong, the fog had lifted, revealing blue skies, sunshine, and a strong breeze. The course, as always, was in excellent condition, setting the stage for some impressive results.
And impressive they were—four players broke into the 40s. Concentration proved decisive, with Mick Bryan edging out the field to win with 42 Stableford points. Three others finished on 41 points, with Mark Bromwich prevailing over Steve Lunt and Robert Charbonneau on countback.
Highlights included Robert’s remarkable 24 points on the front nine and Steve Lunt’s outstanding net 75.
At the other end of the table, Willem Lasonder was the only player in the 20s and once again took home the spoon.
Near pins: Seamus O’Connor, Paul Carver, Robert Charbonneau, and Bob Edwards.
