EASTERN STAR
On Tuesday morning, nine enthusiastic players gathered for our round at Eastern Star. We were pleased to welcome guest player Midge Dixon to the group. The skies were overcast, creating pleasant conditions for golf, and the course itself was in fine shape.
Despite the favorable weather and course condition, Eastern Star proved its usual challenge. With its length and difficulty, points were hard‑won. Rising from last week’s dip, Dave Smith found his form and claimed victory with 34 Stableford points. Close behind, John Pegrum played a steady round to secure runner‑up with 33 points.
Midge Dixon, still adjusting to the competition’s tension, accepted the spoon with good humor.
Near pin honors went to Tony Oakes.
TREASURE HILL
Thursday brought us to Treasure Hill, our first visit to the course this year. Ten motivated players took part, enjoying another overcast but comfortable day. The course was in excellent condition, and results reflected the improved play compared to Tuesday.
Rumor had it that Gary Lees came well‑prepared for a big performance—and he delivered. With an impressive 41 Stableford points, Gary claimed the day’s win. Willem Lasonder followed with a solid 37 points to take second place.
Paul Carver, missing some practice, ended up with the spoon.
Near pins were won by Gary Lees, Willem Lasonder, and John Dean.
