3 DAYS KANCHANABURI

Early morning on Monday we left Pattaya for our first round of golf on Mission Hills. This time we had a group of 10 motivated golfers. After a relative fast drive, we arrived about 11 am on the course. We were worried about one of us who didn’t turn up. Unfortunately, he was misled by his navigator.

It was a sunny day and very hot. You could see that the course suffered on the heat. The grass brown on many places and many barren places. But we all came around. Alan Wilson became the man of the day and won with 38 points. Bob Edwards followed close and became runner up.

APRIL

Allan Cassin could not control the heat and received the spoon.

For Tuesday was our venue Blua Sapphire. We had good memories on this course. It lies in a natural environment with nice scenery. The course was in much better condition than  yesterday’s course. They are still improving the course and the clubhouse.

It was again a hot day and that asked much of our endurance. The course itself is also a challenge with the many canyons to cross.

Nobody was able to break his handicap. Neil Harvey and again Alan Wilson were the leaders. Both finished with 35 stable ford points. Neil became the winner, beating Alan on the count back.

Peter Chai Tsai had problems with his eyes and received the spoon.

Wednesday brought us to our favorite course Grand Prix Golf Club. The course was again in perfect condition despite the hot and dry weather. The heat was again a challenge for our group, but we enjoyed it to play there. It was the last round for the time being for our Canadian friends Robert Charbonneau and Maurice Paradis. We are already lokking forward to their come back.

This day is extra exciting, because you have to go for the overall price of the 3 days.

Nobody was able to break his handicap again today. Robert Charbonneau was in good form and became the winner with 34 points. Willem Lasonder and Dave Smith followed on modest instance with 31 points. Willem became the runner up, beating Dave on the count back.

This week was the heat too heavy for Allan Cassin; he took the spoon again.

APRIL CHAMPION

Actually, there were only 2 real contenders for the overall price., Alan Wilson and Bob Edwrds. It became an exciting finish. Alan started with 2 points ahead of Bob. He played  steady up with Bob until the last 3 holes on Grand Prix. Maybe it was the heat or the tension that he lost control and could Bob pass with a strong finish. Bob became the winner with 100 points; Alan was second with 98 points and Dave Smith 3rd with 94 points.
