Interesting Plutaluang – A Breezy Battle on Mothers Day
It promised to be a lovely Mothers Day on Tuesday, with clear skies and sunshine greeting us at Plutaluang. It had been a while since we tackled the Navy course, and this time we took on the North and West loops. The course was in good condition, with smooth greens and just enough breeze to take the edge off the heat.
Competition was lively, with Sam Jeffery and Neale Savery locked in a tight contest. Sam edged ahead by a single point on the front nine, and both players matched each other stroke for stroke on the back nine with 20 points apiece. That gave Sam the win with 36 points, while Neale followed closely with 35.
Paul Carver, still searching for his rhythm, took home the spoon — though we suspect he’s just keeping it warm for someone else next week.

Neale Savery on Fire at Pattaya Country Club
Thursday’s venue was Pattaya Country Club, where we had a strong turnout with four groups. After a bit of pre-round chaos sorting the flights, we headed out onto a beautifully kept course under another sunny sky and a refreshing breeze.
With conditions ideal, expectations were high — and the scores didn’t disappoint. The front nine saw Sam Jeffery and Steve Sturley leading with 20 points, while Allan Cassin and Neale Savery were close behind with 19.
In the end, it was Neale who kept his cool best, scoring another 20 on the back nine to clinch victory with 39 points. Steve Sturley came in second with 38, edging out Allan and Sam on countback.
Robin Simons, perhaps overwhelmed by the flurry of high scores, graciously accepted the spoon — though we’re sure he’ll bounce back soon.
