Hard Emerald
On Tuesday we went to The Emerald. It was again a nice day with sun and a strong breeze, which made the day pleasant. The course was in reasonable condition, but looked sometimes like a savannah with the yellow-colored grass. The dry spots on the fairway were good for the roll, but also not easy to strike.
The four groups were struggling around and real high scores were impossible. The strong breeze made it also difficult. Nevertheless, Bob Edwards was not impressed by the external conditions. He played very consistent and won with 35 stable ford points. Alan Tookey played also solidly and became runner up with 33 points.
Theo Schroeder and Mark Bromwich fought for the spoon and Theo won.
The near pins were for Alan Tookey and Allan Cassin.
After the presentation we celebrated the birthday of Willem Lasonder. We are thankful for Don, she organized a mouthwatering buffet. Until late we enjoyed it very much.
Beautiful Bangpakong
On Thursday was our venue Bangpakong Riverside. It was a nice day on a beautiful course. It was little cloudy and windy weather today. Pleasant for playing and not to hot. The journey was little bit longer than we are used to, but it was it worth. The course was in very good condition and we enjoyed our day very much.
It is a quite long course and really not easy. Nevertheless, we had good results. Remarkable was that almost the whole field had the best results on the back nine. Neil Harvey was in very good form and won with 39 stable ford points. Runner up was Allan Cassin with 37 points.
Mike Mallot and Willem Lasonder did their best to win the spoon. Mike beat Willem on the count back.
The near pins were for Bob Edwards, Allan Cassin and Maurice Paradis.
