Beautiful Eastern Star
On Tuesday we went with 3 groups to Eastern Star. It was some time ago we played here. We were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course. It was a real pleasure to play here. The weather was very enjoyable with a nice cool breeze.
The course is not easy and we had to do our best for good results. Sam Jeffery and Willem Lasonder played consistently. Willem had a strong front nine, but could not continue on the back nine. Sam came back on the back nine and saved the victory on the last hole. Both had 36 stable ford points, but Sam beat Willem on the count back.
The spoon was for Maurice Paradis.
The near pins were for Dave Smith, Allan Cassin, Sam Jeffery and Maurice Paradis.
Dry Crystal Bay
On Thursday was our venue, Crystal Bay. It was a nice day with a strong breeze. The condition of the course was disappointing with many dry and hard spots. The course needs more water to recover from the dry season.
Normally we have quite good results on this course, but today we stumbled too much around. Many results in the low 30’3. Bob Edwards was the best with 33 stable ford points. The runner up became Allan Cassin with 32 points, beating Alan-Edward Eden and Neale Savery on the count back.
The spoon was today for our guest player Lonnie Johnson.
The near pins were for Willem Lasonder, Maurice Paradis, Bob Edwards and Allan Cassin.
