Windy Mountain Shadow

On Tuesday we went to Mountain Shadow. It was a nice day with sun and a strong cool breeze. A challenging day on this course with the many trees everywhere. The course was in good condition. The greens where not easy to play and we saw many 3 puts.

Scoring was a problem and there many scores in the 20’s. Only 1 player made his handicap. After a weak front nine came Willem Lasonder back and doubled his points on the back nine. Maybe due to a peptalk of his caddy at the turn. He won with 36 stable ford points. Runner up was Neil Harvey with 30 points.

Mike Malott secured the spoon.

The near pins were for Bob Edwards, Maurice Paradis and Willem Lasonder.

Dry Emerald

On Thursday was our venue, Emerald. The weather conditions were good with a nice breeze. This course is never easy, but now is it hard to play. There are many parts dried out and hard as concrete. On the other hand, the soil around the greens was to wet and soft. The greens were fast.

We had Barry Higgins as guest player and were happy to see Jonathan Pratt.

Another difficult day to get a high score. Sam Jeffery played the most consistent and won with 35 points. The battle for runner up was going on to the last hole. Actually, Neil Harvey had the best papers, but Bob Edwards came along with a fantastic 25 m birdie putt. Both had 31 points but Bob was better on the back nine.

Jonathan received the spoon for his comeback.

The near pins were for Allan Cassin, Maurice Paradis and Sam Jeffery.
