Gary Lees shines at Soi Dao
Monday and Tuesday we had our trip to Soi Dao. After a pleasant drive we arrived about 11 at the resort and teed off after a quick lunch.
It was a beautiful sunny day, and the course was in good condition despite all the rain. However, no carts allowed on the fairways and that means a lot walking.
The course is not easy and there were no spectacular scores,
The first day was Sam Jeffery the most consistent and won with 34 points. Gary Lees and Dave Smith battled for the runner up. Gary became the runner up, beating Dave on the count back,
The near pins were for Gary Lees and Allan Cassin.
After a pleasant evening with a nice dinner and enough spirits we started the next morning for our second round.
Again a sunny day and a little bit dryer course. But it was again difficult to make supper results. Gary Lees and Neil Harvey were in good shape and fought for the prices, Both improved their results of the previous day. Both ended with 33 points and Gary beat Neil on the count back,
The near pins were for Dave Smith, Allan Cassin and Gary Lees.
The overall winner of the 2 days was Gary Lees.
