Our mid-week game saw us take 12 groups to Pattaya Country Club where we took full advantage of the special promotion of 1800 baht all-in. Unfortunately, we had to turn down 3 players because our limit of 48 had been reached which made it even more annoying when 3 players – all in their own transport – failed to turn up and never gave us any notice.

We operated 2 flights today with Flight A being 0-18 and Flight B, 19+. Garry Lyon was in the first group off and came home with 37 points to take the early lead. It was a lead he was to hold onto despite a late charge from Michel DeLa Trez. Scottie Brown, who was instrumental in getting us such a good deal at PCC took third place with 35. The other winners in A Flight were Steve Doris and Glen Elsworth.
Best score of the day, and overall winner, was Stu Elsey with 39 points to head Flight B. Like Flight A, it was a Frenchman who took the runners-up slot with Patrick Haly returning with 38 points. Tony Fagan edged out John Coey for 3rd place with the remaining podium place going to Paul Longstaff.
On behalf of everyone, we would like to thank our friends from France for their great support and although Patrick and Michel are here for a few more days, we hope you all have a safe flight home and look forward to seeing you all later in the year.
Just as a heads up, on the evening of the 17th of March, there will be a St. Patrick`s Day bash at The Snug. Although not a golf day, all are invited which is sure to be a night to remember.
