Eastern Star
1st Rob Folland (15) 34 points
2nd Steve Downes (7) 32 points
3rd Tony Robbins (24) 30 points
Near pins Dominique Pujol & Steve Downes X 2..
Millionair golf today at Eastern Star where the weather was beautiful, the course was in superb condition apart from the greens which were a bit slow, and the speed of play was excellent with the lead group finishing by 2.15 p m. With illness, injury, and absenteeism our numbers were again on the low side. Exchange rates are hitting everything lately and not helping our cause. There was an expectation that rates might improve by the end of high season, however this has not materialised as they remain stubbornly unattractive.
Despite four wipes Rob Folland did enough to take first place with thirty-four points. As always Steve Downes was in the mix taking second with thirty-two and Tony Robbins rounded out the scoring with thirty points. Three near pins were as listed.
We were able to welcome back John Webb today for another month of golf and possibly a bit of club sailing thrown in.

Plutaluang S & E.
1st Rob Folland (15) 41 points
2nd Steve Downes (7) 38 points
3rd Witt Mann (13) 36 points
Near pins Darren Tumai, J M Colomar & Steve Downes X 2.
Given that the North & West nines are preferred and we play them just about every visit , it was time for a change today and judging by the scores it was a popular choice. The general consensus was that while the course is in its present condition we should have it on our schedule twice a month.so we get to play both eighteen. It’s rare that people sing the praises of this course but today they did, well grassed and green with decent greens.
Two in a row for Rob Folland taking first place with forty-one points. Steve Downes was three back in second while Witt Mann took third on countback from Alan Sullivan. Two first timers Darren Tumai and J M Colomar got near pins and as usual Steve Downes got a pair.
Just about all courses are struggling for numbers lately, despite that a few stubbornly insist on high prices which just guarantees that they will remain quiet for the remainder of the low season.

Pattaya Country Club
1st Craig Dows (9) 38 points
2nd Rob Folland (15) 36 points
3rd Frank Dartford (25) 34 points
Near pins Craig Dows X 3.
We rounded out the weeks golf with a game at Pattaya Country Club, popular on Friday’s due to its proximity to the city and a short drive back.
The course could be described as ok at best, in particular greens were slow and bumpy. The weather was fine with no threat of rain.
In a rare appearance at the Bunker, Craig Dows took the honours with a well-compiled thirty-eight followed two back by Rob Folland who enjoyed a particularly good week. A first time visit to the winners circle for third placed Frank Dartford, no doubt it won’t be his last. A monopoly in the near pins with Craig taking three, one went unclaimed.
In the battle for the golfer of the month its neck and neck between Steve Downes and Rob Folland who will prevail?
There was much bell ringing back at the bar as we marked the departure of Dominique Pujol after a quick two week visit.
Rob Folland, two time winner this week
Craig Dows, winner at Pattaya Country Club.
